Hey everyone! I recently just came back from Boston and I had an amazing time site seeing and visiting the landmarks of Boston. I’ve always been in love with traveling and every year my family and I go on family vacations. We try to go somewhere different every year. I’ve been to Hawaii, Florida, Bermuda, Mexico, Gaspésie, Quebec City, Lake George, Punta Cana, e.t.c. I’m so excited to say that next summer we are going to Portugal! I’ve never been to Portugal and it’s always been a dream of mine to visit Portugal and my family’s culture. My family was born in Portugal and they get to go every summer. I’ve always wanted to experience what my family got to experience. I’ve also heard that Portugal is beautiful and has amazing food. I love food and always like trying new things. This vacation will definitely be worth the flight and will certainly be the best!
June 8th, 2018, my mom and I drove to Boston to drop my brother off at camp. I woke up around 9:00 in the morning, we packed up the car and started our six-hour drive. We stopped for breakfast at Tim Hortons and I had a cream-cheese bagel with an iced capp. After an hour, we reached the border.
The drive was really long, so I occupied myself with my favourite book “Breaking Away” by Patrick O’Sullivan and my favourite tv show series Suits. Reading and watching Netflix is my favourite ways to pass time. I also took the opportunity of taking many photos and videos during the drive. I love anything that has to do with photography, but love sharing my experiences with others.
Once we arrived, we dropped my brother off at camp at Boston University. I got to see Nickerson Field. After, we met with our friend from Connecticut, Melanie Grossbard. She really made the trip fun with her amazing energy and cheerful spirit. We checked into our room at the Hotel Commonwealth. We left our luggage in the room and then left for dinner.
For dinner, I ate at the Oyster Bar and Eastern Standard. I had calamari as an appetizer and grilled cheese. It was really good, but wasn’t full yet! For dessert, I went to the Cask n Flagon. I ordered a hot fudge brownie sundae and no words can describe how good it was. I definitely wasn’t expecting it to be that big… nothing compared to the food portions in Montreal. I’m used to a small brownie and a cup of ice cream, but this was massive. I wasn’t even able to eat it all cause I was so full!
June 9th, 2018, I came across some beautiful attractions. In the morning, I went to Starbucks and tried the new mango dragon fruit refresher. It was really sweet and perfect to start another day in Boston. I visited the Boston Red Sox fan store, Fenway Park, Boston Arts University, The England School of Photography and Mike’s Pastry! My favourite place was Mike’s Pastry. They legit have everything! Cookies, cupcakes, cheesecake, fudge, brownies, cakes, cannolis…you name it’s there. I melted when I first walked into the little shop, it was like heaven! For dinner, my mom and I ate at the Boston House of Pizza and it was really different, yet really good. Boston makes their pizza very crunchy whereas in Montreal ours is very thin and all you can really taste is the gooey cheese. Everyone has their preferences but Montreal pizza hits the spot. For dessert, I had a caramel pecan cheesecake from Mike’s Pastry. I’m not a huge fan of cheesecake, but this cheesecake was the best cheesecake I’ve ever tasted! My mom and I also wanted to try some other desserts. I ordered a chocolate covered cannoli and my mom ordered a carrot cupcake. Both were really good, but I like to go light on the sweets which makes the cheesecake my favourite!
I had a fun time visiting Harvard Square. I got to visit Harvard University. Attending Harvard University is one of my biggest goals in life. I always study hard and put all of my school assignments first. I continue to work really hard and move one step at a time with pursuing my dreams of attending Harvard Medical School and becoming a successful doctor! Sadly after visiting Harvard, it was time to leave Boston and head home😔 I had a great time visiting Boston and I’d definitely do it again! The next time I visit Boston I’ll get more of that amazing caramel pecan cheesecake, and take photos…of course!
